- In a move towards operational efficiency, the city will consolidate all financial functions, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget processes, and reporting. These functions will be outsourced to Abdo, a trusted partner renowned for their wealth of experience and expertise. Clifton, Larson, and Allen, an esteemed accounting firm, will assume responsibility for financial auditing, bringing their extensive experience in city government auditing functions to the table. The City has created a new position of Assistant City Administrator, focusing on strategic communications, managing requests for proposals, acting as the primary liaison for the planning commission, and overseeing the election process. - Due to the Ash Borer Disease in the area and in our parks in particular, there will be a total of 14 trees removed in Bryantwood, Rainbow, and Veterans Memorial Parks. The removal is planned for the end of February; however, it may be delayed with the warm weather until there is frozen ground to protect the lawn from heavy equipment damage

- Rental Permits Required in Maple Plain Starting June 1st- Landlords in the City of Maple Plain are advised to take note of new rental licensing regulations under City Code Section 4-541, effective January 1, 2024. - The City held an Open house on January 10th to present the 2024 Street & Infrastructure Improvements, The scope of work includes full street reconstruction of Independence Street between Budd Ave. and Howard Avenue, Bryant Street, and Wyman Avenue, including sanitary sewer, watermain and storm sewer.
