Position of Council Member candidates
We are excited to learn more about these candidates in support of the general election on Nov. 5th. The General Election is coming on 11/5/24. If you want to skip the line, you can vote early. The two options for voting early are absentee voting by mail and voting in person. To request an absentee ballot for the 2024 elections, you may complete the online absentee application here or download a paper application from the Minnesota State website. Once your application is filled out, it can be submitted to the Hennepin County election office by mail, fax, or email. For detailed instructions on how to return your absentee application, visit. You may apply for an absentee ballot at any point during the year except on Election Day. Be sure to leave ample time for election officials to process and mail your ballot, which must be received by Election Day to be counted. To vote early in person, after September 20th, residents of Maple Plain can participate in early voting by submitting an absentee ballot during regular office hours at Maple Plain City Hall. This option provides flexibility for those unable to vote on Election Day. In addition to the standard office hours, early voting will be available on specific extended days. Residents can vote from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on October 26, November 2, and November 3, and from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on October 29. This ensures ample opportunities for voters to cast their ballots at a time that best suits their schedules. To vote on election day, In Maple Plain, only one polling precinct is located at City Hall. The polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Election Day. A sample ballot will be posted at City Hall, or you can visit the Secretary of State’s website (https://myballotmn.sos.mn.gov/) to view your precinct ballot and prepare ahead of time. Maple Plain is committed to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, and strict federal regulations govern behavior at polling places. Only authorized personnel and voters are allowed inside the polling location. Campaigning and displaying political materials, including t-shirts, buttons, or literature promoting specific candidates, political parties, or ballot questions, are strictly prohibited within the polling place and a 100-foot perimeter. Voters can cast their ballots without facing any influence, pressure, or interference. To protect voter privacy, taking photos is discouraged. This ensures the confidentiality of not only how a person votes but also whether an individual has voted at all. How to register to vote before Oct. 16th
